Ayllón is a small municipality located in the north-east of Segovia, very close to Soria. This village was declared Historic-Artistic Grouping in 1973.

Ferdinand III, Alphonse VII or Alphonse VI visited this locality, which has several stately palaces that have been preserved during the passage of the years. The most relevant one, Contreras Palace, was declared Nacional Monument in 1949.

Although the population of this town does not exceed the number of 1,300 inhabitants, there are many tourists that comes to the village in order to enjoy the great architectural and cultural heritage formed by the Main Square, the Church of Santa María la Mayor, the Bishop Vellosillo’s Palace, the Casa del Águila (Eagle’s House), or the Casa de la Torre (Tower’s House).
