La Torre del Oro is located in the city of Seville in Andalusia on the banks of the river Guadalquivir. It is next to the bullring of the Maestranza. It is 36 meters high. It dates back to Arab times and can be given several names such as Bury al-dahab, Borg al Azahar or Borg-al-Azajal. This is because it projects a golden glow on the river due to its structure with lime and pressed straw.
It is a tower that is formed by three bodies: the first built between 1220 and 1221, the next ordered to build by Peter I the Cruel and one last, cylindrical and ending in a gold dome built in 1760.
It was declared a historical-artistic monument, and its interior houses the Naval Museum of Seville.
