
Segovia is located in the interior of the Iberian Peninsula, immediately to the North of the Sierra de Guadarrama, in the mountains’ foot, and at the South of the Norht sub-plateau. The downtown is located at a height of 1002 metres above the sea level.
If you want to travel to Segovia by car, you surely will be interested on the roads, dual carriageways, and motorways communicating the city and its neighbouring provinces.

The toll motorway AP-61 reaches the city, motorway that connects San Rafael (Madrid) with Segovia and has transfers from the AP-6. The gratuitous alternative is the N-603 which runs parallel with the AP-61 and connects Segovia with the N-VI through the town of San Rafael.
There is also the linking national road N-110 that joins the AP-6 to Segovia A-1, specifically joined in Villacastin. It can also connect with the AP-51 to Ávila.
From Valladolid, Segovia can be reached via the A-601, also called “Autovía de Pinares”. It is a short ride since just a few more than 100 kilometres separate these two Castilian cities.
Surrounding the city, the motorway ring road SG-20 can be found. This has connection with the A-601, the N-110, AP-61, and the CL-601.
There is also the option of taking buses to get to Segovia. For instance, some buses depart from the Spanish capital’s “Intercambiador de Moncloa”, ride that last approximately 1 hour and costs 8€.

There is also a connection to other cities such as Aranda de Duero, Árevalo, Ávila, Salamanca, or Valladolid.

Taking the train is the fastest and more comfortable option to get to Segovia, reaching Madrid in just 30 minutes. The average prince of one ticket is approximately 10€.

In Madrid, the train has to be taken in the Chamartín Station. Depending on your time available, you can choose between the companies AVE, AVANT, ALVIA, or Intercity. The train does not only reach to the Spanish capital, but also to La Coruña, Albacete, Alicante, Bilbao, Burgos, Gijón, Guadalajara, León, Lugo, Madrid, Oviedo, Palencia, Salamanca, San Sebastián, Santander, Valladolid, Vitoria, and Zamora.
